Where to get a wiper linkage bushing?

I have searched the forum and could not find out anything on where to get one of these. I saw where people were saying you have to buy the whole wiper arm linkage. Has anyone found a place to buy just the bushing?

You could try dorman part# 49448 or similar.

It didn't work with my 98-02 Corolla though. It could be that the previous owner used a different wiper transmission.

I looked on Dormans site and they do not have anything listed for a 96 Avalon. I have searched online, I posted here because I cannot find anything. I was hoping someone had experience with replacing this part, without replacing the whole linkage.

So after scouring the internet and reading other forums (Subaru/Toyota/VW) I finally came up with something. While other cars have the fortune of having Dorman's product fitting on their wiper motor, I realized even 49448 doesn't fit on my car. So, in desperation, I'm trying this idea (from the link provided)

This is a DIY fix for a dollar. The white plastic caps that join the wiper arms together in the wiper assembly commonly wear and break under normal use. 1984 - 1986 Honda CRX and Civics also used these plastic caps for a short time - much to my dismay. In my 2000 Subaru Legacy and Subaru Forester (should work on 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 models as well), there is an easy DIY solution that will take care of the excessive play in the wiper travel, as well as the common 'wiper clunk'.
Head over to your local auto parts store an purchase a PCV Valve grommet for a Toyota. Part number 42058. These are only a dollar, and are normally stocked on the shelf. If you put the phrase 'pcv valve 42058' into to Google Image Search you will see what I mean. I’m attaching a picture as well.
For installation, gain access to the wiper assembly, I recommend removing the entire assembly (arms and motor) from below the black trim piece under the windshield. Inspect all the joints. If you have a loose joint, remove the white plastic cap and the arm from the ball joint. Slide the PCV Valve Grommet over the ball joint and press the arm into the grommet. This is now a perfect, snug fit. Wiper blades slamming into the car is a thing of the past.

Attached is my DIY creation. I hope it works.... If not, the next time I take everything apart will be my fifth....

Its made up of an unknown piece of rubber (might the PCV valve, not sure. I just selected the best-fit one from my random collection of rubber pieces) and an e-clip (from your local hardware store. I think its 7/16, but it might be 1/2 or 9/16, I cannot remember).

Its looking good so far!! No weird noises from the bushing while in operation.

Now the next question is, "How long will it last?"

My friend came up with a quick fix about a month ago, still working fine. He used a heat gun and tightened the tabs on the bushing, saved big buck's! It work's!!
