Installing aftermarket head unit-1996 Toyota Avalon XLS

I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon XLS. I bought a sony cdx-gt640ui head unit from sonicelectronix.com and they sent the DIN kit and a wire harness, but the wire harness didn't fit. I went to Best Buy and bought the amp integration harness, and it fits but I'm installing the head unit and on the wiring harness there are 4 RCA cords and I'm confused as to where they plug into. I've removed the glove box to get to the amp but I still can't figure out where they plug in.

the 6 and 7 speaker systems on the Avalon uses a factory amplifier, in order to retain that the harness plugs into that instead of directly to the speakers. This is why the harness has four RCA jacks, line level Front R+L, Rear R+L . These will plug into the "pre-amp" outputs on the back of your head unit. If your headunit only has one set of two RCA outputs, you'll have to get a two Y splitters if you want all speakers to work.

The second plug is for the factory 12 disc changer. Yes, you do have an amplifier, and the stock speakers are 4".

If you replace the speakers keep in mind to disconnect the factory tweeter, if applicable.

Blaupunkts are pretty cheap and have some good characteristics.

Of course, with the word cheap in mind, it all depends where you buy your product.
