Dead speakers

Hi, I bought this new Avalon 1999 from a dealer. The audio system was working with all 4 speakers.

Last week while coming home on a interstate highway, my speakers started making some bad noise and after some time I felt some burning smell and just after that my speakers went dead.

Since that day they are not working. I can see that the audio system is working, Cd Tray, LCD and FM but nothing comes out from the speakers.

I think that the speaker wires are burnt out. Can someone please help me out to fix my audio problem.

Thanks, Punnu17

You have 4 speakers, with no tweeters? If thats the case then all your electronics for the radio are in the radio itself. The amplifier section of the radio could've burned up, but the fact that it didnt blow a fuse and functions as normal, it seems fine.

However the real way to test if your speakers or wiring is bad is to remove the radio and hook up a little test speaker on each speaker output.

Otherwise, if you have tweeters the avalon has an external amplifier, which could've been damaged, I believe it shares the same fuse as the radio. Perhaps a connector was shaked loose from a bump

Thanks for your answer. I have 4 speakers. I tried to remove the audio but not even able to remove the front rim .

I will continue to remove the audio and give it a try.

Thanks again,
Puneet
