AC Leaking? Floor is soaked, help!

I just stumbled on this site, and WOW! Lots of great info on here...

Speaking of, I am trying to figure out what is happening to my 99 Avalon. For the last few weeks, the front passenger floor mat had been soaked. I wrote it off as my scuba gear was in there for a few days, and thought it was due to that. Anyways, now after removing the mat to let it dry, and the carpet underneath is drenched! I pulled up the carpet and much to my surprise there is mold and water is coming in from somewhere. Small drips of water are coming from the black plastic piece with 3 screws in the picture. Specifically, water is slowly dripping from the lowest screw on the plastic box. Is this the AC? There is a tube coming from the plastic box leading out of the car, but it is intact. I included the second picture to show where this is located. Hope this is an easy fix, thanks!

the a/c pulls water out of the air as it passes over the evaporator coil. that water drains out - i know you've seen it under the car. now, ither the black tube is blocked or it is simply leaking. sounds like a job for some silly clone calk .)

If the hose is plugged, pull it and check it. If its fine, then you may want to get a screw driver or something small and gently push it up through what the hose just came off of. There may be some crap clogging the hole or hose.

Just pulled off the hose and checked it, its clear. It appears that the leak is coming from the bottom screw in the first picture. I further inspected the area and found no cracks or anything. Do y'all think I might actually be able to get away with just silicone? Any other ideas, maybe a gasket gone bad?

its usually leaves or something blocking the drain that the hose plugs into. we blow compressed air through the hose from under the car at my shop. basically the box fills up and leaks. maybe get a can of compressed air and spray where the hose hooks up to the box or a screwdriver etc.

temp fix

Just and update: I opened the "box" and found there was a gasket seal that should be keeping it from leaking, but nothing clogged inside though. I ran a bead of silicone along the gasket, and so far no leaks!

I thought I had the same issue.... Turns out it was the weather stripping on the front windwhield was not sealing because of an itty bitty rust bubble. That let water in that slowly came down the pillar and behind the dash right to the floor.

If you are still having problems, the next time you see water on the floor, check your headliner to see if it is damp near the windshield.
