estimated repair cost

i have a 97 with a bad O2 sensor (bank1 sensor2 after cat converter) and also there is a leak in the exhaust where the flanged pipes connect just after the cat converter. This exhaust leak was repaired not too long ago, but apparently the last guys did a poor job. How much can i expect to pay for these repairs? Also, I just moved and don't know any local mechanics; what chains are the best for this sort of thing? Is Meineke good?

The cost s/b somewhere between $20 and $2500, depending what parts need replacement and who does the work. The high end will be a Toyota dealer installing new front and center pipes.

I also believe you've misplaced the sensor. Bank 1 is on the engine, bank 2 would be the post cat, and there's only one post cat sensor.

just cut the flange out of the pipe then replace it with a new piece of solid pipe. muffler shop - about $40 or so. disconnect battery, hold brake down for a minute to clear codes. repairing the exhaust leak will probably fix the o2 sensor code, as well.
