Gen1 RE-did my steering wheel the correct way, lol

I am kind of a perfectionist, and after a while I could not stand some parts not being smooth. So this time I got the exact color and used SEM Classic Coat for leather and vinyl and got an exact color match. I completely redid the steering again and sanded the old paint off before painting. Let me know what you guys think.

I think I want you to come and do mine!

Can you give time, cost and source for materials?

Gen1

.I have a previous thread when I repaired it the first time, only thing I did different was use SEM classic coat. Surprisingly it only took me an hour this time, lol. One thing you have to make sure is the wheel is completely sanded smooth before painting because any imperfections the paint will bring it out.

Here is a copy and paste from my old thread, and I will update with prices.
I used this guide btw:http://theinteriorguyllc.com/repair-...teering-wheel/.

  • I cleaned with alcohol and acetone(can't imagine how much dirt came off).
  • Then I sanded the wheel with 400 grit sand paper. $2 for 3-pack
  • Sealed the torn parts with super glue gel. $3ish
  • Used Gorilla Glue and applied on torn leather $3ish
  • Put a small layer of Elmer's Wood Filler where the leather was torn.(the leather was very brittle so as I sanded it was tearing in other spots. $2ish
  • More sanding, first with 120 get it even quick than 220. Smoothed it out with 400.
  • Then I sealed the wheel with Thompson's Water Seal.(At Home Depot) $6
  • Used Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter, and Sem Classic Coat Paint Color #17243. $6, $11
  • After I kept sanding to it was smooth and even, the sealed it, adhesion promoter and paint.
  • Then repeat those steps until it smooth and even
Finnally I used water seal once the paint was dry and let it sit for an hour. Then I used Thompsons water sealer again. (Left it with a nice shine.)
Altogether probably $50 for both times.
