Gen1 Floor boards soaked.. a/c? need help

hey i have a friend with a 96 toyota avalon and the floorboards are soaked to the point you put pressure on the carpet water comes up. its in the back and the front but not all the carpet is wet just the bottom part (not the sides or by the glovebox) I pulled up the carpet to see if there were any a/c lines or holes and there is nothing. Has anyone had this problem? Do you think its a/c related? he went to autozone and asked and they said it could be a heater core or clogged a/c line so he bought a heater core but idk. i havent looked at his heater core yet. Also i read that the heater core is behind the glovebox is this true? and how do you take the glove box out? I dont know much about toyota i drive and work on a subaru so its totally different. thanks

If coolant, it would have distinctive smell and color, and coolant level w/b low.

With A/C running, can you see dripping underneath the car, beneath front passenger's feet? If not, likely a plugged evap drain line. Look for open end hose in that location.

ok cool yea i told him to check his coolant tomorrow..but the liquid that has soaked the floor boards is not coolant. so ill be pulling up the back carpet to see if there is a line back there b/c i cant see one under the carpet up front.

Look up front! With the drain line blocked, the condensate has nowhere (planned for) to go, and overflows the drip tray, winding up on the carpet.

You look for the line to clear of crud from outside the passenger compartment. It will look like a black rubber hose hanging down. Ramps w/b helpful, but not necessary. The location, within a ~1ft radius, will be the same on virtually any left hand drive car with A/C. Note: There's a small % chance hose is missing.
