I once got 35 mpg. I drafted a Ford F250 for 150 miles down US 41 in Wisconsin. The stretch was mostly downhill (not extremely down hill but like 3 inches of decline per mile). The only reason why I didn't hit 50mpg is because once I got into Milwaukee I drove like like I was being chased by a tornado.

I could get 31MPG in the winter (no A/C) driving a steady 65MPH on long trips. I attribute some of that to Michelin (Harmony) tires and REDLINE (10W30) pure synthetic oil. The car now has 225K miles and was handed down to my son this past summer - still running fine AFAIK.

I got around 28 doing highway miles in mine, 4 MPG better than my Cressida on similar trips.

wow you guys are lucky I only get 22mpg on highways. what type of gas do u guys use? and any tips how i can improve.
I stick to top tier gas stations like Shell and BP, and I use 89 octane. To improve MPGs, make sure to keep your tires inflated properly to tire specs listed on the sidewall (mines at around 32-35 psi). Make sure your air filter is clean.
When driving, I normally keep the revs under 2,000 when accelerating from a stop light. ALWAYS use overdrive, it's your vehicles 4th gear. And coast as much as possible. When you see a light turn yellow, take your foot off the gas and just coast to the light. You don't need to rush to the light. Also keep your car as light as possible. I never carry useless things around in my trunk. I always take backpacks, gym bags, etc. out whenever I don't need them.

I recently went on a 1000 mile road trip, and managed to get 23.8 mpg with cruise set at 85. If I could control my heavy foot... I might be able to get up to 28 or so...(I normally get around 18 or 19 mpg w/ all city driving)
