break lights

the right and left brake lights both went out recently. When i turn the headlights on, the tail lights turn on, but pressing the brakes does not make them brighter. the center brake light in the rear windshield does work when i press the brakes. Does this sound like a bulb issue or a wiring issue? i find it strange that both sides went out at the same time.

pull a bulb and check it with a multimeter. That will tell you if it's bad or you have a fuse/wiring issues.
