Brake Fluid

'98 Avalon hasn't ever had brake fluid changed. Was at autozone getting the recommended DOT3 and all brands besides their store brand are "Synthetic" which I understand is silicon(e)? based. He said the synthetic can't be mixed with regular DOT3.

I plan on bleeding the brake lines out as much as possible but won't be flushing them with any sort of pressurization. Will this constitute not "mixing" them? From what I've read, the mixing concern is mainly not mixing DOT3 and DOT 4 with DOT 5. Any insight would be appreciated.
THANKS!!

You'll be ok. Suck out the fluid in the reservoir with a turkey baster or other device and fill it up with the new fluid. As you bleed each brake, you'll replace most of the old stuff.
