do rack n pinions make noise?

Hey friends

I recently this april had a remanufactured rack installed.
The rack was remaned by Garo Steering from Ebay.
Anyone have any idea what might cause boots to tear at the end?

The car never made any noise before the remanfactured rack was installed.
now it makes a humming noise after sitting over night. Unless I put it in neutral or park and the noise stops. After it warms up driving it stops though.

Just the other day I heard a howling metal on metal sound but it stopped and it has not been heard again.

I just seen the end of the boots the small hole area are semi torn there is no zip tie on them. I plan on going to sear where it was installed and have them look at the rack and alignment.

I seen a few negative reports about Garo's racks.
I was sort of concerned when the boots that came with it
ripped after only 4 days of install and Garo does not send out replacement
boots..Sears replaced them since it took so long to install it like 6 hours on a book rated 2 hour job. The dude cut the main wire inner band which I think made the boots rip..

this is a mess serious..any advice guys thanks

My re manufactured rack makes next to no noise. I forget the exact brand That I got. It sounds like to me that you got one hell of a bad rack&pinion. Is the power steering fluid low? I don't know if it makes a difference but I think you are suppose to use Dextron III ATF instead of power steering fluid, what did your installer use?
