How to upgrade speakers on car with factory amp?

Ok, car is a 96 Avalon. Already upgraded the headunit using one of those special harnesses that ties the factory amp into the preouts on the new radio.

Now the problem is my brother blew all his speakers

Can I replace the speakers and just wire them into the factory wires? Or will they not work right with the factory amp?

Any way to upgrade them without having to run all new wires from the headunit?

Replacement speakers will work just fine with the factory amp. You would replace the speakers just like you would and any other car. There are a lot of DIY threads in the Avalon forum for replacing your door speakers.

I recommend spending the 50-70 dollars on a set of Boston Acoustic speakers that will fit your application.

BA S45 @ Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Boston-Acoustics...#ht_1713wt_975

BA S45 @ Crutchfield: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_065S45/...45.html?tp=102

DIY Thread: New Audio System On 97 - It's Easy

I recommended the S45 because I use them in my rear doors and I think they sound great for such a low price, 45 a pair on ebay.

Or there is this, if you feel like burning plastic to install larger speakers.

Put 5.25 componets in my 98 XLS (PICS!!!!)
