Camry Springs on the Avalon
According to cross-referencing of numbers and the insight I've gained from searching this forum it appears that Camry and Avalon Springs can be used interchangeably. This make sense as Toyota, like all car manufacturers, would pull parts from a "parts bin" to save $$.
But due to the fact that the Avalon weighs (for my model year - 1997) ~250lbs more than the Camry, did they have different spring rates between the two models, or are they truly identical?
I ask this question because I would like to put an aftermarket spring on our car when I replace the desperately worn suspension. With 250K miles on it, it is certainly due.
I like the Eibach Pro-Kit that I have used on other vehicles in the past because I DO NOT want a drastic drop - just something slight. I realize the Avy is not an M5 and I'm not trying to make it one!
I would be concerned that using the Camry Eibach springs on the Avy would give it more than the advertised 1.2-1.4" drop.
I've considered the Vogtland option, but think that 1.8" is probably a bit more than I want to go, and I also have concerns regarding negetive camber angle with anything over 1.5".
Is there anyone who has experience with either of these options?
Thanks in advance!
