Wiring help

Please help! I'm trying to install my first remote start system into my 1999 Avalon and it has a safety hood switch. I need to thread a wire through the firewall into the engine compartment so I can hook the hood switch up.

I found the big grommet opening that I can get to but it's on the passenger side. Now, I can't figure out how to easily get the wire from the driver's side to the passenger side so I can make use of this big opening in the firewall.

Or is there another opening on the driver's side that I'm missing?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks a ton.

On a similar note, I'm also having trouble figuring out how to wire the trunk release switch for my remote starter. Again, the trunk release switch is on the passenger side and I'd have to thread the wire over to that side and I'm not sure how.

Is there also a trunk release wire on the driver's side I could use? Does someone know where it is and could help me find it? Or give me a tip on how to thread the wires to the passenger side.

Thanks!

I drilled a hole in the middle of that polygon shaped cut out, that was for the manual camry's clutch pedal and routed wires through there.

To get to the switch you have to remove the glove box and the trim around. Also the black cover under the dash/glovebox. You also have the passenger unlock/lock wire in the passenger kick panel. I used a coat hanger to fish the wires to the other side.

Thanks.

I figured out a way to get to the trunk latch switch. Inside the glove compartment (where the switch is located), there is a access cover on the left side. I was able to pry open this access panel and find the wires inside it that led to the button switch. For the life of me, I couldn't find the wires below the dashboard on the passenger side.

I was able to fish the wire from the driver's side to the passenger side along the very top edge of the floor using a coat hanger.

It's not complete yet, but I'm getting closer. I still have several things left to do, but I did get some difficult things done.

My kit came with a hood switch. Now I have to figure out how to mount the sucker under my hood. It's made for a hole with the wire coming out the bottom and the pressure switch on the top.
