Crazy Odometer issue PLEASE HELP!

I have a 1998 Avalon XL, everytime I turn the car off, my odometer (not trip A or B) resets to 0. I can drive ten miles it will register, but as soon as I turn it off it resets like it was a brand new car. I have taken it to toyota they just wantto replace the cluster. I am lost. Also if i hold the trip reset button while i start it, i get a single number, every time i press again it will go from 0 all the way to 20. then go back to 0, any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Check all the fuses. I had a similar problem in my old van, turned out to be the "memory" fuse.

did you check both the fuse block under the dash and the one under the hood?
