messing around with the exhaust ?

i'm sure some of you pplz in here have modified the exhaust. my state does not check pollution and, if they did, i could always pour 10-12 ounces of acetone into a full tank of gas. that will make it pass .) point is, if i want to ditch the cat, i can.

the problem and, therefore, the question is, how much range does the fuel injection have? then there is my intent, which is not to make a drag racer, but just to warm it up a little. i know the potential, and plenty of it, is there. just taking the lid off the air cleaner coffin makes it run a lot faster (try it!)

there's a difference between quiet and silent. now i have silent. quite would do, nicely. i don't want any loud noise to lull me to sleep, on road trips! i'd like to replace the air cleaner and modify the exhaust just enough to release the power i know is there, without leaning the engine out (due to exceeding the limits imposed by the fuel injection) and ruining it. now my car runs perfect. don't need anything that will mess it up...

someone share their experience?

I had a twin tip muffler on mine, id say that with a 2.5 piping to the cat will help open it up and it gives a nice deep tone not loud and raspy also you may want to check out the Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust there nice too. As far as an intake i had a short ram on my last one, it sounded nice and opened it up pretty nice. Now on my new one i have stock exhaust and intake with a k&n drop in filter.

yeah - i just did some "home boy" mods on mine and now it will not put the power it makes on the ground, so have come to the end. still nice and quiet with the stock muffler - it would be a shame to toss that thing - it's made of stainless and all... but the intake makes some noise when i floor it - lol
