Gen1 chicago land people i need help

hey chicago land drivers i need help in finding 98-99 clear avy headlights. preferably nothing wrong with them or just the housing and lens because i can switch out the brackets for them and make my foggish cruddy lights i have now into bright new shiny ones lol

so if any one can check into the surrounding junk yards for me and let me know that would be great cuz im trying to get my "woman" running again and a new paint job. with all new headlights.

So if you find any clear ones i would greatly appreciate it and maybe we can work something out. so just pm me for my number

Thanks,
Chavo 55

Would a headlight restoration kit help? It's amazing what those polishing kits can do.

yeah ive used them but my issue is that the haze comes back 3-4 months later and with the kits they dont bring them crystal clear like the 98-99 headlights.

I want those kind because im doing a whole restoration on my lights with audi style light strips and angel eye led lights. and i was thinking just using a restoration kit on my lights and get them clear as possible as i could but i dont know if the leds will look right thru it.

any feedback is appreciated

thanks,
Chavo 55

Yeah the headlight mounting tabs look incredibly similar on the 95-99 Avalons. And I think I've seen 96s with 98 headlights before soo...

Best bet is visiting a scrap yard, or you're going to spend $150-300 on TYC or similar.

nu finish (the orange bottle) wax will make the polishing last for a year or better. else you're looking at something like this: http://www.go-part.com/9597-toyota-a...rc=shoppingcom

i just spent $100 on a pair from a junkyard, hit 'em with rubbing compound/wax and considered myself lucky. they don't look bad but they don't look new, ither. the rest of the car isn't new... lol my sheet metal in front is kinda beat up, anyhow.... another thing to consider is that new ones will be funky after a year... maybe two, but with chicago weather, i doubt it!

it's your car, and your money. how silly do you want to be about it? one thing sure - brand new headlights will make the rest of the front of the car look like he77... mine kinda all matches up. and the $170 that remains in my pocket will buy some gas (maybe a full tank - lol)

Yeah i decided against it to buy new ones..so instead i spent 40 bucks on a restore kit and some extra sandpaper and spent about 2 hours cleaning my lights up and for the most part i can see right through them and they look a lot more clearer now. so i think im going to rough it out with the "girl's" original look lol
