When people mention "free carfax" it tpyically means carfax CHECK, which will just tell you how many major 'incidents' are on the vehicles report. If you want more information, youd have to pay the 30 dollars or whatever it is.
But if you purchased it from a dealership, most of the time they have already purchased the carfax on a used car, ask them if you can see it. the who "show me the carfax" sha-bang.
If I do recall correctly, there is a "toyota owners" site on
www.toyota.com, which shows service history on a certain VIN number, but only reflects service done at dealerships
