ok new problem with the lighting

ok um...im kinda mad and annoyed at the same time. i was splicing my wires to my parking light wire and i had the battery cables off and had waited like 20 min because i know the car still carries a charge in the system. so when i was splicing it i saw a little spark but it didnt seem like nothing cuz my led strip came on and then i took the wire off and retouched the wires to see if anything would come on and nothing.....so my dilemma is that all my day time running lights got shorted out because of this and all i have is my headlights...someone help a fellow avy driver out. so i put the cables back on and still nothing

ugh

jigg where you at?? your the genius in wiring lol

Check all your fuses(under hood and under dash). Not sure which one is parking lights, but I'm pretty sure it's a fuse.

Well I sure hope you're ready for the weather thats coming our way

You mean the marker/parking lamps right? Because Im pretty sure our first-first generation (9597) do not have DRL modules.

If you got a spaaark, assuming you just shorted the -/+ wires together on the parking lamp. And that should 100% be fixed by a fuse like ChunkyWolf said. But say if you "injected" voltage into the system, like touched the parking light wire to 120V like someone i know () Then you have another problem.

You dont have a second battery in the trunk or anything? haha. Or maybe a capacitor or something silly. Next time around, make sure the parking lights are switched to off, and even remove the fuse or relay if you're paranoid. Or avoid the issue by not shorting the wires

You should have a voltmeter to check stuff out as you go.

To fix it, does the whole wire need to be replaced? I've done this before, and burned the wire that turns the lights on at the Headlight position. Only works in AUTO mode.

Haha, I had a situation in my trunk where my amplifier (120VAC, powered from he inverter) I unplugged it, had some residual charge in the transformer, it was almost slow motion as the plug dropped from my hand and landed on an ignition turn on wire in the trunk... *Spark* "OH NO YOU DIDN'T"

Uh.. ..I can probably help you, but Id have to sit down and look at the wiring diagram for the headlight system for a little bit first. I need to know where it shorted, etc.

And update me with your situation Chavo, when possible.
