Gen1 New EGR replace CEL still coming on

Hey there friends

I got a new EGR valve and cleaned the sensor that goes into the EGR .
The CEL will come on if I do not allow it to warm up.

So the EGR valve mod that sits up on top what are the interchangeable
numbers as I bought a new one it looks exactly like the older one but is for a 2.2 L I mean seriously here is the part number 25870-74090 wont this one work?

thanks for that idea

hey great thought friend

so I took the original off again and looked them over really good again.
so you mentioned the orfice is smaller actually it is larger then the original.

I also figure that since the puter has the ability to monitor and adjust
things accordingly that it will adjust for the difference and I figure it
might make better gas mileage. (hoping)

Over all since I re installed the new one I havent had any problems.

kewl. can you change the orfices? might be the 'puter is counting on the size and another size might throw it off... and it might be that the engine was matched TO the orfice - that, presumably, is why some valves come with a selection of orfices... don't know about the toyota, specifically.

there must be some process by which they decide what variant of the 'puter goes into each new vehicle... and possibly a lot of other things. my engine has been changed. it worked out great but i was just lucky. i'm sure it could have as easily gone the other way...

anyhow, i would not change anything in these cars without a good, and carefully deduced reason. the 'puter is the most sensitive of any, that i've seen!
