Exclamation 1996 Avalon Stock AMP stereo help

After much reading and searching on the forum, I came to the conclusion I must make an account xD

I have an aftermarket radio I am trying to put into my Avalon and I have the stock amp.
I recently bought the harness to bypass the amp...
Amazon Amazon

I unplugged everything and got everything out. I started hooking up the harness, hooked up power, ground, etc, everything except the speaker wires. Thoughs I left to hang. I then plugged in both the sets of RCAs into the new deck.

The deck turns on, but no sound is present....like ive read in a lot of these forums...

I'm not sure what to do now...
I've seen some posts of tapping into the amp or something but I could use some help as where to approach now

Thanks in advance for anyone who helps
really appreciated!

are the rca jacks on your head unit outputs or inputs. i had one that had only inputs and this wont work. then you would need to tap the wires to the factory amp.

L and R is left and right. but it should also say input or output. you need output.

If you bought a harness to bypass the amp, and then hooked up pre-out lines to the stereo harness, you will get no sound. You need to wire powered outputs if you are bypassing the amp. RCAs are NOT powered lines. You should try hooking back up the factory amp and see if it works. The factory amp is not that bad(I'm still running stock amp and speakers).

the factory amps will, in fact, fry most speakers of the size that can be used in the avvy. the complexity and work necessary to isolate the wires to the speakers in the doors makes running the stock amps the only reasonable choice. the wires you would need to cut and use are near the ecm. be verrrrrry careful....
