Bent Spindle

i think my right front spindle is bent. can't get rid of shimmy in the right front.

does anyone know how hard it is to get the spindle (the piece the lug bolts are pressed into) out? i know - the book will tell you to take it off and put it into a press. but i would like to do this without all that - maybe by using a drag hammer brake drum puller?

When i did my wheel bearing, i just used a socket thats just a bit smaller and a sludge. but im assuming you dont want to kill the bearing. But might be good to change it if your pulling the spindle. I tried to use a puller, but it wouldnt put enough pressure out to do anything, almost broke it.
Try to look around at small machine shops, some will do stuff pretty cheap. I had the bearings pushed on to my diff from my truck at a small shop, guy didnt even charge me.

i don't want to remove the bearing. the bearings are fine - no "hiss" at all in the front drive. if i replaced the bearing i would likely end up with less of a part than what toyota put on it.

i just want to r/r the spindle (i don't think that's the proper name for the part). it's the casting that mounts the wheel. the axle runs through it and there is a big nut that holds it in. it's right behind the brake rotor and the lug bolts are pressed into it. it's bent.

it just kinda sits there. the big nut on the end of the axle holds it on. some of them are a tight fit, into the wheel bearing.

i could remove the lug bolts, start the thing spinning and take a hand grinder to it... lol. but the grinder is huge and heavy - too hard to handle to try any precise work with it

were you able to remove the spindle? or did the machine shop do it?
