Question Compatible engines for a 1996 Avalon XL

It may have been talked about before but I could not find the threads so I am sorry if this has been mentioned before.

I always try to research and find out for myself before popping any questions but I am at a loss on this question. Can anyone help me out?

My questions are, without too much modification (to mounts and such), any other FWD engine with more power to it then the 3.0L that I can place into the 96 Avalon XL? I understand that I will need to swap the tranny and think about the mounts and such but what about the ECU and other components? Would the 2005 Avalon 3.5L work out along with its tranny (U151 i think to replace the A541E)?

Tips and hints also welcomed. Thank you for your time.

HHmmm....I guess I can narrow down my question. Would the Camry 2004 3.3L(3MZ-FE) engine or the Avalon 2005 3.5L(2GR-VVT-I) engine compatible to the 1996 Avalon setup? Some one out there is bound to know something about swapping a 96 Avalon 3.0L(1MZ-FE). I couldn't have been the only one to ask this question within the last 14+ years. I know your out there =p so spread the knowledge!

Well, in case anyone was interested, the 2004 camry 3.3L and the avalon 2005 3.5L will not work out with the 1996 avalon 3.0 engine mounts. So the search continues. I might just have to get really creative and make something work.
