Canada 95 Avalon front body work

My son's Avalon was recently backed into by a large industrial forklift . It bent the hood, pushed back the left fender, broked headlight & pushed back and bent the upper rad support (the main cross over piece that is welded to the left and right sides). We can get a high mileage Avalon for $700.00 for the parts. How hard is the cross support to replace? We have the fenders off and are deciding if it's worth the effort. The Avalon has 195KM's on it (about 120k miles for our US friends). Any advise would be great!

the "cross support" of which you speak is part of the unibody. it will need to be pulled, by a very expensive machine. once in position, it is common to cut off the ends and drill a hole in them, then mount an unnbent section from a junkyard via that hole and a through bolt.

i suppose other ways are possible. you might drill the welds and remove the part, but where would you get another one? i'm not a body man. maybe someone with specific experience will chime in...
