Gen1 Adding speakers to factory setup

I must start out by saying i have little experience with car audio so this may be a dumb question. I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon XLS with the factory amp, 2- 5.25" speakers front, 2 4" back, and the 4 factory 1" tweeters, tweeters are stock, rest is aftermarket with an aftermarket radio. My question is, is it possible to keep the back speakers the same wiring, but add an amp separately connecting the front to 5.25" to the amp, and then add 2 6x9" speakers to the back behind the seats, obviously id have to mod above the back seat, but i want to know if the wiring set up will work or not. Thx

You will encounter extreme difficulties chopping holes for 6x9s into the back deck.

Did you custom fit the 5.25" speakers in the front doors? I would do the same for the rear doors, install a 4-channel amp powering the 4 speakers and be done with it.

yes i did custom fit 5.25"s to the front door, but i was looking for more bass output that what the 5.25" can offer with some 6.5"s in the rear door now realizing how poor my first idea was. i am not looking to dish out a lot of cash, and the holes for the back door is 4.5" and the mounting width of the 6.5" is only 5" so would that be an efficient way to do it, or would there be another way of obtaining more bass output without blowing a lot of cash.

If you are looking for more bass output, get a subwoofer. Leaving the stock system only HALF functioning will create a headache of problems further down the road due to the stock avalon amp system.
