Code has set about once a week for 6 months. After much reading and searching i may have solved problem. replaced gas cap that didn't work. On my Avalon the evap cannister is in eng compartment contrary to all info pointing to gas tank area. After jacking car i discovered its not there. I tested the VSV switch with a 9volt battery it should click. Old switch was replaced with working switch. Next week i will let you know outcome.

Since last post no more light and even passed Va roller emission test.

I had this problem holding up my Illinois emission test along with a problem with a shift solenoid.
