Gen1 Performance on a 95 xls

Hi everyone this forum helped me install my radio and speakers a while back. Now I figure it's time to do some small work exhaust/intake wise. I was going to ask everyone what would the steps be to finding an intake for a 95 avalon because I can't find any at all. Also I am on a budget and I want to pretty much delete the cats all together instead of getting high flow cats and run straight pipe through to a muffler. Does anyone know a test pipe I can use or would straight pipe be the same thing significantly. And last but not least does anyone know where to get headers for a 95?
Thanks to everyone in advance.

in my perception, you're making a mistake...

my stock engine makes lots more power than the chassis can put on the ground. the left front wheel just spins... all i've done is to use an aftermarket air cleaner and removed some restriction from the exhaust BUT mainly, getting the engine running right.

i would buy an old chevy and use it for my hot rod. please do not ruin an avalon! it will never be a hot rod, no matter what you do... and you'll need a nice car, in case you ever meet a classy girl .)

Save up for a TRD supercharger, that's what I'm doing, power output is raised to 276hp IIRC.

Agree with Bonzo Gonzo, Too far from stock equals can of worms. I have a KnN stock replacement filter. Make sure everything is up to snuff first,(plugs, wires, vacuum hoses, throttle body,no CELs,etc). I think you would get more bang for your buck with wise suspension upgrades.

something i learned a long time ago - a powerful engine is only one component in a fast car. if the chassis can not put the power on the ground you end up with a machine that produces noise and smoke, but NOT speed.

once i completely ruined a beautiful '57 tbird by removing the suspension, installing a solid axle and a 427 ford engine, with a blower on it. all it did was burn rubber. it was so light and the wheel base was so short that it could not put 200 HP on the ground, let alone that 427! it would not even bring the wheels off. it just went up in smoke, every time.

i sold it to some idiot who thought it was fast, for a lot of money just as long as he stays away from the strip, and an ET slip, he'll be ok .)
