Height of chassis

So I was jacking up my car to do regular tire rotation (and oil change) today and the rear of my car seems to be at different heights. The jack stands were in the exact position on opposite sides of the car, but the driver's rear seems to be one click higher than the passenger rear. I am using Harbor Freights jack stands. I did check before I lowered my car... Does anyone else have this issue?

More than likely from very slightly unlevel ground. It can happen even on a concrete slab.

I mentioned it was off by as much as 1 "click" on the jack stand... thats about half an inch difference?

It's hard to say without seeing it, but it's entirely possible. It's also possible that one rear spring has settled a bit more over the years than the other. Not unusual at all. Many things can affect the height. Do you know that history of the car?

this is a great wild goose chase!

you would need to be on verified level ground and to pick up the end of the car not on stands, as well, then put it back down, to remove any steering torque stored in the suspension as it was parked...

maybe better to drive it straight for at least 50 feet onto a place that's level, then look at the height of the wheel wells above the tires...
