Adding XLS Climate Control to an XL

My son picked up a used 97 Avalon XL, we went the the junkyard to get some replacement
interior parts and noticed the XLS has the climate control, has anyone tried to install the
XLS climate control panel into an XL?

Does the car need a different computer? Just wondering if anyone has tried this, I can
get the interior XLS panel for like 10 bucks. I took a picture of the connectors/wire harness
to compare to the XL later this weekend.

i think the climate control uses powered water valves, etc. that you would have to add, as well. this just might require changing the under-dash wiring harness i have the climate and i'm not all that crazy about it...

Thanks, the reason we ask is because we added a remote starter (for winter time) and it would
be easy to leave it on 70 degrees and not have the car get overly hot with the dumb
blower setting.
