alarm system

Has anyone ever disconnected the factory alarm? Mine is possessed and goes off when I open doors either with the remote or with the key as well as when I open the trunk. I did a search for "alarm problems" and didn't find anything that seemed relevent to my circumstance. I would like to eliminate the whole alarm business but obviously still be able to lock the car. Any suggestions.

Mine does the same thing. Every November It goes off by itself. I think it's the cold weather (moisture). I put a towel in the drier for awhile and wedged it in between the controller and the rear fender. It helped.
