Cd Changer Question

I have a quick question, do the Cd changers in our avy's play CD+ / - R . I have installed an aftermarket cd player but I do not like the non stock look (even though honestly for the 95-99 look toyota cd/cassette are ugly) and I still have my 95 cassette with a round cd plug.

In an salvage yard hunt last week I saw a 97 cd changer.....if it works....do the 97 CD changers read CD-R, I know there is no chance for mp3....but I can deal with CD-R and cutting in to the cd changer cable to make the AUX input is easy.....

Also any other models that I can look for in a salvage hunt the will fit and look OEM (or that are OEM) that possibly have mp3 capability........

any newer dvd / mp3 models that came in newer avalons ...will any fit ok in our outdated looking dash...?

I always had bad luck with CD-Rs jamming when I put them in my cd changer, but my changer was unreliable from day 1. Yes, it will read them though.

I ended up pulling out my stock head unit due to finding a great deal on a GPS/stereo unit(aftermarket pioneer, it looks amazingly stock). Honestly, I'm not a big fan of most aftermarket radios due to the tiny little buttons.
