Parts Interchange on modulator

I need a new EGR modulator for my 1996 Toyota Avalon. The part number on the old part is 25870-62020. While looking on Ebay, I see a very similar looking part that looks like it would work, but much cheaper. The part number I found is 25870-74090. Will this part work for my vehicle?

TOYOPARTSMAN just got a hold of me and answered my question. He said it won't. The 25870-74090 is for a 4 cylinder Camry, and the other is for a 6. My question now is what makes the modulators different besides being made for different cars and cylinder sizes? Isn't it just a big filter of sorts?

Cut your broken one apart and see what it is.
