the wires from the rear o2 sensor - 2 of them are heaters. the other 2 - 1 of them is a ground. the "hot" wire carries a very lov voltage - less than a volt.
i'm wondering if that wire goes through any plugs between the o2 sensor plug and the big momma connector, on the computer?
i plan to tear the seat out again, then the glove box, and clean all the connectors around the computer on sunday... should be fun, huh?
As far as I can tell the O2 sensor has two wires that go to the II1 connector located in the driver-side kick panel, eventually leading to the ECU. the other two wires i presume are grounds that both ground off at the intake manifold to minimize ground loop/different voltage.
You should have battery voltage at the heating element when the ignition is set to "on", and around 3 volts when the engine is actually idling.
When I was having a bunch of issues with my fuel injectors, one of the things I did was unplug all the connectors and cleaned them too.. Not satisfied i also ran a 12awg wire directly from battery ground to multiple ground points on the engine and then to the bolt where the ECU wires are. Not sure if it actually helped at all or is 100% placebo.. but gave me something to do for a weekend!
