Dome fuse blows out regularly, no fan speed text lights

Good morning gents,

I've got a 1995 Avalon XLS which has been brilliant but there's one minor and persistent niggle: the dome fuse blows out regularly. I can't say precisely how often, but it's definitely a few times a year.

Is this a common problem for other owners? Is there a solution?

I've also just noticed that the light behind the text on the fan speed buttons may be burnt out. The backlighting for the vent positions (head, head & feet, feet, etc--the entire row) works. The indicator light on the buttons work as well. The back lighting for the temperature wheel works. The indicator light on the fan speed buttons work. However, it appears that there should be a backlight on these buttons so it's possible to read the text on the buttons at night.

What might cause this problem? I've just checked all of the fuses and they seem to be fine. Am I mistaken in believing there's a backlight? Could it be the bulb itself? How might I change this and is it worth the hassle?

EDIT: I've just noticed that there's no light in the trunk. Could this be why the dome fuse always blows? I can't remember there having ever been a light in there. Is there meant to be a light under the hood as well?

Good Morning, My 99 Avalon has the trunk light on the same dome light fuse 7 which is a 7.5 amp fuse. Maybe a problem at trunk light if it has one. Try replacing that bulb. Any other issues? Sun Roof leak, water in trunk etc? Good Luck

There is no light under the hood of a 1995 or 1996 as far as I'm aware. The cargo in the light in the trunk, if I recall correctly seems to be a dealership-only part (I've never had a problem with it, but remember seeing other forum posts on it being a hassle to get the bulb)

As for the burnt out bulb in the HVAC cluster, If you have replaced a/your car stereo with something else, you should be more than capable to change the bulb. It involves taking the trim out around the radio, unbolting the suspect assembly, uncliping the attached plugs, disassembling the assembly, then replacing the twisty-in lightbulbs. Its under an hour job if you know what you're doing.

Everything painted on the hvac panels should light up, heres a miscolored reference picture.
