drip free oil change method!!!

I've tried this a few times and it works...

If you do your own oil changes, and I'd say at least half the people on this forum do, then you all know how frustrating it is when you take off the oil filter, only to listen to all the oil dripping over the sides of the oil pan and exhaust, and hope that it doesn't stain your garage floor. Try this....

(1.) put your car up on RAMPS, and drain the oil pan like normal, and DON'T
replace the drain plug, let it keep dripping.
(2.) Leave your car up on the ramps OVERNIGHT for at least 8 hours.
(preferably in your garage)
(3.) take the filter off in the MORNING.
(4.) finish the job like you normally would.

Depending on the oil filter construction, this might not work, but I know it works with the cheap Wal-mart Super-tech brand. Because you tipped the oil filter downward while your car was on the ramps, it should be over 95% drained, save for the filer media inside which is still probably saturated.
This should work for Gen 2's as well, I'm not sure about 3rd generation engines though.

Let me know if you guys have any luck with this method.

Yeah that works, another quicker method is to punch a hole in the filter can.
