fuel filler tube leak

I have a 95 avalon xls, around 191k miles.

The flange where the lower fuel filler tube meets the fuel tank is badly corroded, and has started leaking. The upper fill tube is also badly corroded.

I've got an estimate on parts from a dealership, 250.00, and a labor estimate, 270 dollars. It seems you have to drop the tank to replace the lower tube.

Does anyone have any experience with removing the fuel tank from one of these cars? Can I do it on jackstands in my garage? Any special tools needed?

I can't help with installation process, but can tell you that the lower fill tube(one that goes in the tank) from me is $21.44 and the upper one is $122.87 plus shipping. These are brand new Genuine Toyota parts.

Here's a DIY thread showing how to replace the tank fill tube on a Gen3 Camry. I don't know if it's the same or not, but I bet it's pretty close.

Oh, and Gary (^above) is excellent. I've bought OEM Toyota parts from him a few times without any problems at all.
