Pulling seized 6cyl with AT problem

Have pretty much figured out all the areas to pull the engine with tranny. Potential problem I can't figure out is instructions say that after pull to remove trans first remove torque convertor bolts by removing access plate and spinning engine to get at them all. Then remove the bolts connecting the trans to the engine so that convertor comes off with tranny. Problem being engine is seized so can't turn to access the bolts. So does the convertor have to be unbolted to remove the tranny or what?

i'm not 100% torque converters usually are slid in the trans whereas the bolts attach it to the flexplate/flywheel. since you are planning on pulling the engine and trans from the car you SHOULD be able to jimmy the trans off the engine and torque converter just undoing the bellhousing bolts maybe?

What are you doing with that seized engine of yours?

As for the seized engine don't know yet. Got a line on a good used $600 local with warranty that doesn't charge for or take cores, but have several remaner's in town going to see if they will give me anything for it. Main is seized you wouldn't beleive the sludge when i took off valve cover.

Yes you can pull the transmission off of the engine, the torque convertor is bolted to the flywheel only. PS. you might not have to pull trans.to pull the engine,I have found it easier to pull front pulley and pull the engine only.. You could try loosening your main brg. bolts and than try to turn the engine...Good luck...
