This question for my brother in law who is driving 95 Avalon, I notice that his car's headlights are white. the front plastic cover turn white from clear.
1. can you make it clear again? How?
2. what is second choice?
I've tried the clear headlight cleaner that they sell on ebay. Works for me to get the 'yellow' off the headlights....ebay= headlight cleaner toyota ~$10
try a product called mcguires PlastX, its worked wonders for my 94 es headlights! they were milky white; end product was clear lenses that made the car look 3-4 years newer!
ruoknow
my headlight is very weak, which i suspect that's the issue.
we need to clean the inside by detaching the headlight?
If your headlights are dirty from the inside, your can detach it then clean it with mild soap-car wash soap, let it sit for 15 mins, then pour out the water. If not clean, do it again. then let is sit with the lens facing up. Use a hair dryer to speed it up.
If you want to keep them clean cover them with paint protection film. I did mine in about 1hr and I've never done it before. The reason I invested the $20 and time is that I bought 2 new ones which were crystal clear and I wanted to keep them that way. If the film gets cloudy it can be changed for another $20. If you wanna try it look up paint protection film in the yellow pages, and ask them if you could buy a piece lg enough to cover your lights. Installation is easy too. If your interested let me know and I'll tell you how to install it.
Or, if you have the money, you can buy 98-99 avalon headlamps which are more reflective inside, and are made with clear (non-textured) lenses. It is like $120/each though. I havent done it, some people I have asked said they needed to do some modification, some people said they only had to drop it in and thats it. The result of the clear lenses and a more reflective inside is about a 33% increase of light on the road. Not to mention it looks a lot better. Good luck
