Closest Match For an Avalon???

Closest match for the Avalon...?

I have a '97 Avalon and until I get the car I really want, I am gonna keep this for another 12-18 months. So, I want to play with it and make itlook like something other than the old fart's car that it is. Don't get me wrong, it's a very well made, reliable good quality auto....It's just EXTREMELY boring.

Recently I installed a new Kenwood CD head unit (the one that the face folds down and up), replaced all of the factory tissue paper speakers with some beefed up ones.. added a sub in the trunk and installed a new wood dash kit.

Now, as I see many of you Avalon owners agree, the outside needs some work.

And as many of you already know, no one makes a mod kit for the car.

My quest is to find something close and modify it to fit. So my big question is, what other Toyo has the closest dimensions to the 97 Avalon? Or will I simply have to fabricate one myself???

What have you done personally to make the outside look more sporty....please tell your tales...

Thanks MBD

paint it black, and get a front lip off of a car with nearly the same dimensions, open up your corners, remove the orange part, and drop it on a nice set of rims...

it'll be pimp for sure..

what?

the LS400 isn't a slightly longer camry, the ES250/300/330 is a slightly longer camry.

the LS400 is on a completely different platform as far as i know.

I have found a nice body kit for the generation-1 LS400 at JFRacing.com and I want to modify it to fit my Avalon. The kit is made out of fiberglass so it can me modified without much difficulty....

So, which is it.. is the Camry dimension or the LS400 dimension a closest match for the air dam and side skirts???

Exactly. Thats about the cloest you can get. the LS is almost IDENTICAL to the Avalon piece for piece. The only main difference is the lights, and the shiny Lexus logo, thats about it.

Your best bet is to fabricate your own completely custom kit, cause as you know (and the rest of us) that they dont make shit for avalons, its quite sad actually. I love the Avalon dearly, but I am so incredibly annoyed that we are neglected against in the aftermarket arena. Other than replacing the audio and such, thats about it. Not too much performance wise you can do, and the lowering intrax springs (Intrax) that they have for the car which drops it 2 inches, sure it looks good, but I hear that the quality is crap.

...welcome to the avalon club.

.

maybe the styling, but the Avalon is based on a stretched out Camry chassis, while the LS is on it's own..

the Avalon is a FWD V6, and the LS is a RWD V8...

i still dont see how...

I feel your pain, my man.

And it's the ES that's a longer Camry. The LS is all it's own...

closest match

closest match for the engine is the Lexus ES class. for the interior i would say the LS class, same with the extorior (basic design wise).

who thinks the closest match for the '05 avalon is the Infiniti G35 sedan (except the wheel drive part)
