horn replacement

I have a 98 Avalon, and I need to replace both horns. I found one behind the front grill, but I can't find the other one. Is the one behind the grill the low pitch one? Also, how are you supposed to check for battery voltage at the horn electrical connector, since it's only one wire? Would I just ground one wire from the multimeter and put one at the connector, while depressing the horn button?

Thanks

One connection? To every electrical part there is always a positive and negative. Through the connector, there should be 2 pins. I have a 96 and i only see one horn. but check the forum, we have a pdf manuel of the camry 96 v6, which is the same engine as our avalons. That might help you out.

I don't know about this specific horn, but all automotive wiring generally uses the chasis as a common ground and is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. That being the case you would only find one wire at the horn. Use your multimeter with the negative lead contacting the chasis and the positive touching the wire at the horn. With the horn button pushed and the key in the on position you should get 12 volts.
