Whoops forgot to post... The problem or at least what seems to be the problem is the trigger wire was never connected (didnt know I needed that) Which explains why the voltage slowly dropped to 7.6 while the car was running. The alternator was never really on. Tomorrow I will be hooking it up and testing my numbers.
Since we don't need two threads on this you can follow up and see my results in the audio/video section of the forums.
