I'm rebuilding my S-51 just bearings and seals. that's going to run me about $600 for tools and parts. depending on what's wrong with your trans you may be able to do it yourself for that, or just get a used tranny for like $300 at the junkyard. I believe it's car-part.com that you can use to find parts a different junkyards within a given radius. be worth an extra hours drive to save a couple grand.
