Hello Everyonei Recently Purchased A 2003 Toyota Avalon And I Am Really Happy And Satisfied With It. I Was Wondering If Someone Could Tell Me Where And What Kind Of Dvd Navigation System Is Build In The Xls Model Trim. I Have The Premium Jbl Sound System But I Would Love To Install The Dvd Navigation System In The Dash. I Do Have A Screen There That Currently Displays The Compass, Clock And Calender. I Have Contacted The Dealership And They Were Really Unclear Of What Brand Or Kind Of Navigation System Is Being Used, All They Were Able To Tell Me That It Will Cost Me Some Where Around $ 2000 Plus Labor To Have The Dealer Ship Build It In For Me. Can Someone Help Me Or Direct Me?thank You
I don't have an avalon, but in my camry, the Eclipse AVN5435 is the closest you can get to factory. Even the steering wheel controls still operate. YOu can get this unit at Crutchfield for about $1700.

I Was Wondering And I Am Still Searching For A Jbl Navigation System, I Hav E Been Looking On Different Websites And I Just Can't Find It Anywhere.
Any Ideas Where Else I Could Look? Is Any Other Navigation Will Look And Fit The Same?
I am not sure JBL actually makes a navigation system. IF anything it would be a factory navigation system that has been labeled witht eh JBL label. The radios that are put into Toyota vehiclesw with JBL upgraded systems are not actually made by JBL. They are made by Delco, Fujitsu Ten, Pioneer, or others. I am not sure about now but when I was working for TOyota most of the factory stereos were made by Fujitsu Ten, later when I got close to leaving there they were starting to use Delco quite a bit and then the really nice premium stereos with multi disc player and EQ built in were made by Pioneer I think.
The JBL part of the stereo is really jsut the amp and the speakers themselves. IF it were me I would go with something like oemvalue has and use it. If all the amps for thestereo are external then you should get the same sound quality from the replacement nav system as you do from the OE stereo.

Thank you Chris, and i did view the webiste already. Let me ask you then, i went to a couple of car places today that built in car stereos and speakers and i was told if i go with a aftermarket radio that i would have to sacrifice the wood trim around the control panels cause they wouldnt be able to build in a aftermarket radio plus having the wood trim. As you might know, that eh avalon caomes with a wood trim around the whole front dash. Any advise on what to do with that? Also, i am thinking about adding a aftermarket remote starter system to the car? Would that interfere with any of the electric equipments? Is it recommended to add a remote starter system to the car??
I am not sure bout the Avalon wood grain. I know normally you can remove the woodgrain, which is jsut plastic simulated wood and then replace the stereo. As long as you use a head unit tht fits in the slot for the factory radio then you should be able to use the wood grain. I am not positive about this but jsut from past experience this has been the case. You may try pm'ing cam2xrunner. He seems to be the audio installation expert on here. He is the moderator for the audio vide forum. Or you can post another thread in the A/V section about the wood grain and stereo install.

Well Chris, Thank You Again For Your Post. I Have Already Checked Into Different Units To See If They Would Fit Directly Where The Radio Is But Without Any Success. It Seems That All Units That I Have Researched Do Not Fit Into The Same Slot At The Factory Radio. I Also Went To The Dealer Who Had Installed My Stereo System For My 05'matrix And He Really Said That He Would Rome The Wood Grain And Replace It With A Plastic Kit. I'm Not Sure If That Is Teh Right Thing To Do Or Even The Best Looking Way.
Would You Recommend A Remote Starter For The Car?? I Was Thinking About It And I Heard So Many Different Opinions About It.
