18" rim/tires vibration problems 2001 avolon

Put 18" rims and tires on 2001 Avalon xl. Can't seem to get them balanced and not virbrate? I've been back 4 times. They have balanced/ rebalanced and even put hub centric rings on. I don't know what to do?
I'm thinking of taking the car and getting the tires "road forced balanced" but was told it would cost $85 bucks.
Has anybody else had similar problems? If so how did you fix the problems.

yup I gotta 1995 Avalon XLS w/ 18" wheels, wrapped in low profile tires. Had the same vibration problem for about 3-4 years. It especially vibrates around 50+ mph. Many shops tell me that its because they are aftermarket wheels and that its usually the prob w/ aftermarket wheels. I refuse to believe that but I just don't know what to do either man. Anybody have any answers??

And you're sure the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 on these wheels and not 5x115? Using wheels with the wrong bolt pattern is becoming more of a problem all the time now.

And are you sure the right lug nuts are being used? The wrong lug nuts can even have the right thread size but with the wrong seat and cause vibration because the wheel never seats properly.

I'm sure you've already checked to see that the torque on every lug bolt is the same and not too high or too low...

Other than hubcentric rings, those are the only other things to look for that I can think of...

Oh, does the vibration occur all the time or only when the tires are cold?

I think CassisPearl is on the right track.

Try pulling a rim off the car and look at the holes in the rim. I'm thinking that the lugs are moving within the rim bolt hole. If that's happening you'll see scuff marks and probably see the same on the lug nuts. If that's not the case - go for the road-force balance. I've had that done on my vehicles in the past and they've never (I'll stress that word - NEVER) vibrated.

If you're using hubcentric rings, you do not have 5x114.3mm lug pattern. Otherwise, you wouldn't need them.

Hubcentric rings MAY solve the vibration issue... but it's not the really the best answer. Obviously... using the correct lug pattern is. I've used hubcentric rings in the past and I had success with them... but that's not always the case.

My only suggestion would be to torque each lug nut to exact spec in the proper criss-cross method. Then get an alignment (which you should do any time you change wheels).

Other than that... sell your rims and get new ones with 114.3 spacing.

i got 18s on my customed 00'. however i have experienced this problem even i had the regular oem wheels on there.

what i found out was that in changing my rotors to cross drilled slotted rotors, the pulsating seemed to stop and i no longer experience the vibration. you can get a good pair for about 160 plus shipping and handling on ebay

hmm I really considered to get drilled/slotted rotors. What I did however was replace my rotors for another set of regular rotors I got for about 80 bucks on ebay about a year and half ago. When I get the money, I will try out the rotors you have and let everyone know if that was the issue.
