what are the sizes of the speakers in a 2001 toyota avalon xl with the JBL upgrade.

should be looking at 4 bolt 6.5" in the front and the rear. you may want to pull one out and look first and also measure the resistance of the speaker. Sometimes a factory amplified system has odd, proprietary ohm measurements to ensure that you have to get factory replacements. if the speakers measure dc resistance between 3-3.6ohm, a standard 4 ohm speaker will work. anything else, you will loose power or make the amplifier unstable and do more damage.

I'm going to be doing the same thing too, but I will try just the sub, amp, and headunit 1st, I might keep the factory JBL speaker because they sound pretty good rightnow

yea what i did was i kept the headunit then put in two alpine type r's in the trunk connected to a kicker 1000w amp. It bumps pretty good but to get the best quality you would have to replace the headunit nd interior speakers.
