Question Cabin Air Filter on a 2000 Av

Hi fellows. I recently picked up a 2000 Av and was going to change the cabin air filter. In my owners book it says to take it to the dealer to prevent damage to the car. I can see part of the access door behind the glove box, but it looks to be partially blocked. Any idea why they tell me to take it to the dealer for this or how to do it properly? Thanks!

They're concerned about the air bag. Just follow the TSB instructions below.

a 2000 avalon has 5 screws and 2 latches that hold the glove box in. The damage can be done to the interior trim in trying to release these 2 latches. I use a putty knife with tape on the blade to keep from damageing the trim.
