Where is my lumbar?

Recently purchased 00 XLS with leather split bench. Getting a sore back, and looking for lumbar support control. There is none, even though the owners manual has a diagram of the controls.

Was this an option on the XLS? did the split bench not come with them.

My back hurts.

If it is anything like the first gen (which the interior is almost exactly the same design except for trim panels) my mom's Avalon with a bench has no lumbar or lateral support, while my aunts Avalon with the bucket seats has both....buying a car with a bench is never, ever, good for your back...

I noticed the same thing. Manual says lumbar, but I don't have the buttons, nor do I have the memory buttons. Maybe there was an additional upgrade package. Maybe it has to do with leather. I have cloth.
