Avalon sludge? Anyone got their engine looked at yet?

I'm getting blue smoke from my tail pipe regularly.. I have a "toyota/lexus owners engine warranty notice" from the class action settlement. It said i am warrantied 8 years from the date of car purchase. The notice also said that if I see blue smoke from the exhaust, that I should contact a toyota dealership.

Anyone know if they will charge me to look at it if i bring it in? I have some DIY when working on my avalon, will try to post up some..

Though the "blue smoke" syndrome is widely discussed on the blogs, it's pretty much a non-issue unless the car [from new] was short tripped, used dino oil 5W30 and only changed every 7500 miles.

If a 3k oil change interval was observed, even with dino oil, even with 5W30 - there were no problems.
