Whats up guys I'm new to the thread but I was wondering....You guys think the 3rd Gen trunk lights will fit on my 2nd Gen? They are about the same as far is dimensions go...

This mod never crossed my mind. I'd be interested in seeing how it works out if you try it. I know, I'm no help, but it is a good idea....

Well, I had $30.00 to burn and won an auction for the tail light pictured above to attempt the upgrade on my beloved 2001 Avalon...

It's a no-go. the light itself is too wide (all at it's base BUT other sides FIT PERFECTLY! PLUS the sheet metal and the inside of the trunk lid is molded differently than that of the third generation.

I'm sure I can grind off the metal to make it fit but I refuse to butcher her that way...NO Tijuana, MX. modifications allowed!!!!
