2003 XLS Key and Fob

My mother has lost a set of keys (key and fob). Fortunately she is using a spare set. I called the dealership and they quoted some ridiculous price for a replacement key and fob. They also charge for a programming fee. It all added up to about $300.00.

I would appreciate some guideance getting a second key and fob purchased for her. Any help on programming is also appreciated. I'm assuming that the key has a transponder (not sure).

atc1,
Ebay is the place to look. The vendors also provide the programming. You should have no problem programming both the key or the fob. You'll have to find a locksmith/ hardware store to cut the key for you.

You have misread my post. I bought a key (chip/transponder) and a fob for less than 40.00 from ebay for a 2003 XLS.

No problem ladies and gents. Anytime I can keep people from increasing the revenue of those greedy dealerships it MAKES ME HAPPY.

Hey LOWHANGER, EBAY distributors are familiar with the transponder type keys...just keep on eye on the length of time the ebayer has been selling on ebay and their ratings....you should be completely satisfied.
